The "Big Fish Sandwich"
A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, my Mom would make this amazing sandwich for us back in the “land of the pure.” It was a novelty back in the day as it was before the subway culture became the norm. Dinner tonight was a trip down nostalgia lane in so many ways and it got me reminiscing about those wonder years. Not to sound humble, but needless to say, I could never come close to her culinary expertise. Just the idea of ordering the bread, which I might add was a shape of a fish (go figure) from the bakery in those days was a big deal as well. We would look forward to that once-a-month treat of the “Big Fish sandwich” with home cut fries. Nowadays having a subway is just a snack. However my kids did enjoy this a lot and said maybe you could also make this for us once a month like nani.
