STIR FRY THAI BASIL CHICKEN

A simple stir fry with only a handful of ingredients that packs in a ton of flavor. Serve over rice to create a complete meal. Fresh basil takes this dish to the next level.

 Adding basil to Asian style dishes actually adds the perfect flavor to soy sauce based dishes. If you can get your hands on Thai basil that is even better as it has a slightly different taste, but this dish will be delicious with regular basil as well. Best of all it’s quick and easy to make, with all the ingredients cooking for only a few minutes.

The secret to Thai food is a balance of five flavors: sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and spicy. Some Thai dishes have a careful blend of all these tantalizing tastes.There are a select few really good meals in this world that take just 10 minutes to prepare from start to finish. This Thai Basil Chicken is one of them.

And it isn’t one of those rush jobs either. This isn’t an episode of 30 Minute Meals. This is going to be a relaxed 10 minutes of cooking.And that, my friends, is dinner. 15 ingredients, 10 minutes. All you need is a bowl of rice to serve it with.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 gms ground mince chicken

  • 1 small onion finely chopped

  • 2 cups mixed veggies, I used ⬇️

  • sugar snap 

  • Broccoli 

  • Baby corn

  • 1-2 red chilies (as spicy as you like)

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1 small piece ginger

  • 5-8 fresh basil leaves

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 2 teaspoonn fish sauce

  • 2 teaspoonn oyster sauce

  • 1 teaspoonn soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoonn sugar

  • 1 tablespoon oil

INSTRUCTIONS

  1.  Mince garlic and ginger.

  2. Stir-fry garlic and ginger with some oil in a wok over low heat. Once the oil is fragrant, add the onions.Continue to cook until onions are just translucent.

  3. Now add the ground chicken and stir-fry until fully cooked.

  4. Add the veggies along with the fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce and sugar and toss to coat well.

  5. Tear the basil leaves into the stir-fry mixture.

  6. Put a scoop of sticky rice onto a plate along with the stir-fried chicken and enjoy while it's hot.
